At our Regional School of Instruction today, I talked with a few RAMs, filled out my petition, and submitted it. I am very much looking forward to continuing my search for light in the Royal Arch.

Congratulations, bro. Once I get finished with my move next week to Denton I am looking forward to going that way as well! I don't know if I am going to be going through it in Denton, Dallas, or Fort Worth. I met some great Brothers in Dallas the a couple of weeks ago while I was visiting the Scottish Rite there. I am extremely excited about going through the York Rite as well as it as originally my first choice of seeking more light.

Bro. Stedman, I notice the 1st Cavalry patch on your shoulder in your picture. I was attached to them when i was deployed in 2005. Glad to see a good military man who appreciates the Masonic fraternity.

Bro. Ferguson, 1st Team!!...lol Yea, as a kid I grew up wanting nothing more to be in the military and there were two units that I wanted to be part of because of the history of those units and movies..lol 1st Cavaly Division and the 4th Infantry Division. I was very lucky in getting to serve in both of those units. I was even in the 1st Squadron 9th Cavalry Regt, 1st Cav Div (1-9 CAV) which is the unit that was in the movie Apocolypse Now. Though, times and warfare is different now than it was back then..lol That squadron alone had so much history and accomplishments to it and it was an honor to serve in that outfit.

What unit were you in when you were attached to 1st Cav? Where were you at? And I do think it is awesome to see other military and prior military guys that are in the fraternity as well. That was one thing that I really enjoyed while I was in, was running into other Brothers. Especially, the ones that I would end up meeting down range and that were from Texas as well.

Bro. Stedman,
I was in the 89th MP Brigade which, in Iraq at the time, fell under the theatre command of 1st Cav. When I finished, I was awarded both the 89th MP and 1st Cav combat patches. I met a whole bunch of great guys in that division. Some I haven't seen in a long time and sincerely hope they made it home to their families. I'm proud to share this forum and this fraternity with you.

Bros. David, Benjamin, and Stewart, thanks for the congrats. I look forward to being your companion and hopefully so being a fellow Sir Knight with you.
