Is anyone else taking part in the College of the Consistory program offered by the Guthrie Scottish Rite? I just submitted the first quiz and am anticipating receiving the 4th degree paperwork soon.

I participate in it and enjoy it a great deal. There is a great deal of writing involved. But it's all about your Masonic experience. Good luck.

Today I received Lodge of Perfection booklet. Looking forward to the journey. Anyone going through the courses here in Houston or down in Galveston?

I've had to postpone my involvement in the program due to school obligations. I had an idea to form a campus locally, so that a small group could get together for dinner ever quarter and to discuss their papers. I'm not on a track to complete the College of Perfection papers any time soon, so shooting for one paper a quarter seems like a good pace for me personally.

I spoke to Bob Davis about forming a campus, and he said there's nothing formal to it: get at least 5 guys together, and agree on dates to meet.

He also said that after your 4th degree paper (your first entry) is accepted, you're given a user name and password to the CotC website so that you can see all the other papers that have been submitted for that degree. Might make for a most useful resource when trying to prepare lodge education programs.

Excellent information Bro. Mac. I'm working on establishing a Master Craftsman Study Group in my county. I'll work on the CoC myself...

It will be a lot of work just to get the MC Study Group up and running.

I am currently going through the Master Craftsman program, but this thread peaked my interest and I applied to the College of the Consistory this afternoon. Looking forward to hearing if I am accepted.

Congrats on taking the plunge! I need to start cracking away at this. It's way more work than the first MC program, as each degree gets its own paper, and the papers are required to be a decent length (I forget now, but I believe it was 1500+ words). Looking forward to hearing more as you work on it!

Completed the first book last night, and sending it off today. I liked the format and the general overview of the material. It builds a good foundation in the Lodge of Perfection.

I just received my 4° packet in the mail. I'm impressed. This study program is very comprehensive.

Perhaps the official Master Craftsman program should have been this thorough?

I find Guthrie to be quick to respond. I believe after the initial contact I received a response in a week or so.
