If any of you guys are ever in the East Texas area I operate a Indoor shooting range in Tyler come in and see me!

I just came back through there on Thursday...spent the first part of the week in Monroe LA and Jackson, Mississippi...would have been nice to stop if I had known...

I guess it's one of my pet peeves. Even though I love glocks and some of the other polymer frame handguns that normally have the polymer guide rods, I always buy a metal aftermarket one and replace it. Some will argue they are more sturdy, lighter in weight, and so on. Others like myself think it is just a money saver in their production. Honestly, I haven't had any FtF, FtE, or any other cycling or performance issues. Only problems I've seen with the Berettas is operator error.

If you're interested, I believe hogue makes some great aftermarket grips with the finger grooves. I've put them on my Sig, Ruger, and Taurus revolver.

thank you, but rubber houge grips where the first mod i made, worth every penny but i broke a grip screw putnn them on. gonna wait to go to the gunsmith, have him put the hammer on,remove the busted screw and have the throat polished. my px4 is berettas attempt at the glock style, with beretta flavor its a good gun for being half plastic, but makes for a comfortable carring gun. took a bit of work to get it to run properly out of the box,but it now runs flawlessly.

PX4 is a sweet piece. I've always wanted the two tone with the desert frame. Also, their CX4 carbine has always been on my list.

mine is beretta blue with a black slide, but that desert two tone combo sounds sweet. the problem with the px4 is its so new, there are no upgrade parts for it yet in the aftermarket.

I think I'm going to have my MK18 desert colors. I like the tan.

There is a guy I used to work with that used Duracoat I think. He would spray it on with an air brush then bake it. It looked awesome when it was finished and looked like it came from the factory.

All these fancy new-fangled firearms! I am getting into last century just now- got an AR stripped lower on the way. I compete in Cowboy Action Shooting when I can actually get off from work. My Henry is chambered in 45 Long Colt, as are my 5.5" R/M conversions. I broke down and got a Curio & Relics collectors license, so my surplus military rifle collection is getting a bit out of hand. I like reloading, too. Nice zen-like relaxation process with piles of ammo to show for it!

Just a hypothetical question, but if you could only have one handgun for the rest of your life, what would it be? Rifles and shotguns excluded. I would have to stick with my Sig 229 or a 226 in 40 cal.

If I could only have one pistol, it would have to be the Beretta M9. I am an Armoror on the Beretta. I just really like it. It's a simple gun to maintain, shoot, and it's very safe. It's the gun I shot in the military and carried overseas. You kinda grow attached to something when you have to sleep with it. But, I really do like the 1911. Just never carried one. There is so much you can do to a 1911. It's awesome.

I would have to say a 1911. Says a lot about a gun that has stayed around that long. Plus like was just mentioned the only limit to what you can do to it is limited only by your imagination.
