I was there watching you march into the temple. I was standing and applauding for all one hundred and forty-five of you District Deputy Grand Masters. (Texas is enormous: everything is bigger in Texas--including--TEXAS.) Congrats Right Worshipful Sir!

Correction: There are 147 DDGMs in Texas. There are 145 Masonic Districts and 2 Deputies-at-Large.

Congratulations my brother. Welcome to the DDGM fraternity. Walt Rogers is a good man. I met him back in 1983 or 84. I hope that you get as much satisfaction from this appointment as I do.

"Let sleeping dogs lie." "What's that sign ahead read? 'Mine Field'? Column left, MARCH!" "What the GM doesn't know, doesn't hurt him."

No, just kidding. I've already seen a few DDGMs in my area tackle some pretty difficult issues. I don't pray that you won't have any issues...but that you have the preparation and insight to deal with the difficult ones. Leadership is tough, but you've already shown that you're the one to handle it. Congrats and I wish you an enlightening and memorable year. (And some fun.)
