So a friend of mine is semi curious about joining a lodge. In speaking with him about it he remembers that his grandfather was a Mason, but doesn't know which lodge he belonged to. Whether or not he joins, he is still interested in finding out about this part of his heritage. He asked me how he could look up such a thing and I didn't know what to tell him. Is this something he could look up at Grand Lodge?

Well, if he know where his grandfather lived at the he could do what I'm doing and start talking what would have been his local lodge. I'm contacting another lodge for both personal and genealogical reasons, but I hope that I can get something out of it because I'm asking for some information dating back possibly before the Civil War.

I hope your friend finds what he's looking for.
