Road King or Ultra Classic

I have a 2003 ultra classic. I have lately been considering getting a different bike one that is 6 speed. My wife's bike is a six speed and one of us is always shifting when cruising. I am 5'7" and 190 lbs. Would it be an easier bike for me to handle? I have learned how to handle my ultra so that Im comfortable. I have test rode some soft ails but the suspension is lacking and thy feel cramped up. What are your opinions.

I may just consider putting in baker six speed. This way I would have my bike I am comfortable with and the six speed.

The Ultra will give you enough carry space for most of the necessary gear on a trip. If you are getting a new one just for the 6 speed, then add a tour pack quoick connect.

You can make them both have all the same apointments ride and feel so you need to say, do you them to do it for more money or you do it if it is needed for less.

I rode a sporty from 86-89 a softail from 89-95 (most uncomfortable ride out of all) a bagger from 96-05 switched to a Road King in 05 and still have the same bike today. I would do it again if I had to doing all over. Easer to handle in my opinion. I did instal a removable Dragonfly fairing that looks sweet.

On a side note I rode a rigid shovel for about ten years 95-05 and it was the most comfortable out of all, I ran about 15psi in the back tire, lol.

Check out my pics to see the bike if your interested.

Well, I did it I traded in the ultra for a 2013 Road King in midnight pearl. The 103ci and abs and 6 spd. It feels like the road is butter. The new frame definitely feels more controllable.

I just can't ever bring myself to spending money unless it is to resell. That is why I have a Honda VTX. When I was looking for a bike in 2009 to replace a bobber I built I was looking and found a 2006 Fat boy and 2006 VTX sitting next to each other with all the same apointments. Fat boy $15000.00 and VTX $5000.00. With less maintaince cost and same power I had to just buy the VTX. I have had 2 Police Road king to flip but still ride the VTX. I am cheep but I really like all the new bikes.
