Hi I'm 20 years old. And I kind of "Lebron Jamesed" parts of the knowledge because I know way more than a college frat person but less than an entered apprentice.

And I'm not 21 so I can't join a lodge yet. What do I do? Because I really want to start my degrees ASAP.

2. Why is Masonic knowledge not taught in public schools. Wouldn't it better out society if it was openly talked about and people were enlightened?

You can petition in Texas at the age of 18.

Masonic principles used to be taught in most schools (often because they were founded and ran by masons) and many aspects of the union were originally based on masonic principles as well. Why is it not taught anymore? They socialized the education system. :p

Socialized?

Wait... But the whole thing is what man needs to be a better version of him/herself

Our founding fathers had this in mind from the beginning. To build a revolutionary society with these lessons. Who got us away from that and I think in these ever changing times we need to revamp that idea and apply it.

Socialized?

Some people become teachers because they want to change the world by changing the next generation. Some teachers become involved in teachers' unions. Those who become involved in unions tend to be slightly in the collectivist side of the majority. These two effects get leveraged together by the fact that teachers' unions become involved in curriculum development. It takes generations but it builds steadily. The civics taught to me was about the founding principles of the republic, in theory, but do you want to bet my parents got a different version. My parents were just barely too young to fight in WWII. You know, the war against socialists with the word Nationalist in front? I grew up during the Cold War against the socialists with the word Soviet in front. My kids sure got a different version of what the founding principles were. Now that the Berlin Wall is down I can just imagine what the curriculum is now.

Ah, I see what you're saying. In other words, changing times and battles against certain social groups have affected the teachings of supreme knowledge wisdom and understanding. But only because we became globally involved when we really think about it.

What if we just focused on us as a nation and really taught these things to our children freely. Teach them qualities such as insight and the value of blood. Because what's going on in our nation isn't a matter of just human beings being reckless, it's a matter of Man wanting "freedom" without knowing himself first. We're kind of putting the cart before the horse right?

In other words, changing times and battles against certain social groups have affected the teachings of supreme knowledge wisdom and understanding. But only because we became globally involved when we really think about it.

Note that "we" as you wrote above is Masonry. We're a global fraternity. Also note that during the robber baron era Masons participated in the creation of the public school system that put the slow leveraged process in place. Public schools are a service to all people paid for by taxes. Public schools are thus socialism in action. Many people who put their kids in parochial school understand parts of this. They want schools that teach their vales whether they think in these terms or not.

What if we just focused on us as a nation and really taught these things to our children freely.

Again remember that Masonry is a global fraternity my brother. We as Masons have a global focus as well as a national focus. It's one of those factors that make us an elite. But also remember your history. What has happened each time our nation has retreated into isolationism has been worse for the world than sending our troops outside. As horrible as sending our troops outside has been, historically not doing so has been worse.

Also keep in mind that some people aren't worthy of receiving the light masonry has to offer although anyone who believes in the GAOTU can join. Anyone eligible to become a mason and who goes through the degrees, can still walk out of the lodge and not gained a thing, or chooses to ignore what is imparted. I've read quite a bit about masonry, from the actual governance and structure of the craft and its appendant bodies to the extremely large subject known as esoterica. But i once read by a wise mason, if you want to know the "hidden knowledge" that masonry has, just observe how a mason acts, and conducts himself. Now, not all masons are well behaved and some get themselves into sticky situations, but generally of you look around your lodge, the majority of the men in there will be a great example. JM2C
Good luck on your journey friend.

Thank you both very much my brothers. I just wish sometimes that the people will get it for themselves instead of cower at the light freemasonry has to offer. Even if they don't want to be masons they need a journey to higher consciousness. Something that will being them closer to the GAOTU and experience life at a higher level than what they currently perceive it to be. Maybe then the struggles of man with himself would subside and a revolution would start. A RE-Evolution of the mind of man that is more pleasing to the GAOTU and to himself.

I don't know, maybe I'm day-dreaming. But I'm for the age of righteous leaders and higher learning. I see my country as the new Egypt and I feel like we can take what we're doing here to the next level by going back to our founding principals and ancient teachings and restructure what was supposed to be in the first place. Because right now in this day in age I see us going through the same cycles as Rome and our republic is crumbling right before our eyes.
