The Egyptian Schools of Mystery?

The Egyptian Mysteries have long sense passed into the realm of mists, but those with the eyes to see, and ears to hear, can still dissipate the fog and find some teachings left from the past.

The alleged "Egyptian schools of mystery", if they ever existed in the first place, are not in Egypt. Any self-styled "schools of mystery" one might actually be able to find in Egypt in the present day was imported there in the 1800s by enthusiastic Britons, probably made up from a fusion of wishful thinking and Victorian fantasy, and exist only among expats and relics of colonialism. There are certainly living Arab mystics with natural traditions, but they tend to be quite guarded and secretive, given how Muslim governments tend to treat such people. But why desire to go so far to learn what is already everywhere? Enlightenment is not chained to geography. It's not something that one only gets by drinking the Magic Boojum Water that only flows from Hoodoo Well high on Mount Ooogaboooga, after all. Special places are means to an end, not the source of wisdom in and of themselves. This is why every Masonic Lodge is, for all appropriate purposes, King Solomon's Temple. You don't have to go to the physical location, because all the Lodges are that location--all spaces are in one space and all times in one time. The details of geography and calender can be set aside as needed.

But it's one thing to hear about the pyramids and these things where we take our lessons from and another thing to go see them for myself. Plus you never know who or what you're going to run into. This is a journey. Journeys are never ever in one place. I figure I'm only 20 so before I settle down, why not go to go to these places.

But everything comes into full circle. So if it started there, then there it will end.

It's one thing to hear about something, it's another thing to go see it.

Obviously the ancients knew and did things that we definitely aren't doing thus explains their greater connection to the GAOTU

This is a journey, so I definitely know that everything is not in one place.

Just as whatever mystery schools existed in Europe did not do well during the Inquisition.

Exactly. Yet another layer to the symbolic meaning of "It is the internal and not the external qualifications that recommend a man to be a Mason".

There are western mysteries that have emerged since the Inquisition. The Rosicrucian mysteries are to be found in the Scottish Rite should you wish to study that aspect of the SR. There are also several other Rosicrucian organizations that appear to teach mysteries.

There's something about mysteries that humanity drives towards. Jedi and The Force are a modern mystery yet they have an external wrapper of kitsch. So it is the internal not the external qualifications here as well. Find the profound where it is, and once you start looking it is everywhere.

Actually, in ancient egypt, there was a group called the "Djedi" who were priests in ancient Egypt, read more on them for some interesting food for though. And Bryan just so you know, our Brother Pythagorus was initiated in to many mystery schools, including in Egypt. Egypt in ancient time was called "Khem"(meaning the black land) and from there we get "chemistry" and "alchemy". It was also called the "land of the tree and the serpent", which is funny because most every crucifix in ancient times was seen attended with a serpent.

I find it funny when the term"Mystery Schools" are implied or said... Question. Who were they a mystery to?

These MM of antiquity are your ancestors and the answer is in you... The schools were a way to teach neophytes a way back to their devine selves and the creator which is within you...

It was a mystery to Europeans that could not attain the God on earth level. Everything that these universities were about lay dormant in your DNA ready to be awaken. Your very question has its answer in the man in the mirror.

Khemit (Egypt) in its very nature was about teaching man to control his lower nature and live a Devine existence.

This is why you see the African head of the sphinx and the lower body of a lion.

A representation of Devine man controlling his lower animal nature instead of the other way around like today's society. Make no mistake you are a direct descendent of these peoples of the earth!

They left traces on earth for us to piece back together to reconnect with them..

As far as finding those schools in today's Egypt is a time lost and gone. The current people of that land are the decedents of just one of the groups that plundered and invaded that land and its people. This is historical fact. From the Greeks, the French, the Arabs ( Semitic people's), the Brits, the church etc. all have come plundered the libraries and left on ruins.

But what you seek is inside not what's outside. It's internal qualifications of man not the external...

I was a learn sufi, we learn a lot of philosophy which is different than the western philosophy where the west end up to appreciate and embrace the Creation but ours teaches to the creator. In reality nothing exist all this metaphor of the realm of reality, in fact kabbalastic is astray from the truth. Can you be a God as you are the weak and in need of the haq.

I think masonic was created by people who were frustrated by the church. At times Christianity taught by the priest and church was so dark and people that was so stupid to the event of prisoning Columbus, galileo, sure Ben Franklin wouldn't want to be in the stupidity circle.
