Our stated (business) meeting is exactly that, and we make no apologies about it. We encourage visitors to come the next week when our focus is education, illumination, and a formal dining experience.
Back when I was required to shave, I always used a cup-n-brush, even though I was only using a cartridge blade. Much nicer lather, the bristles got all the hairs up, and it added a moment of pleasure to an otherwise tedious chore.

It varies by jurisdiction. In NM, you can be Initiated the same night you are balloted on, though it's uncommon. The wait between Degrees is 28 days, and a suitable proficiency.

The sitting Master has the power to gavel him down if he's being disruptive. As Brother Mark said, check the by-laws. I'm pretty sure the WM holds more immediate power within the lodge.
We have two meetings each month. One is the Stated, and is all business. We do not have dinner or degrees, we fulfill our contractual obligations. The other meeting is a Lodge of Instruction, where papers are read and presentations given. It is also when we confer Degrees. This is always...
