    An individual's Masonic history

THemenway, My Grandfather was a member of Zebulon Lodge #73 up in Prestonsburg, Ky. All I had to do with them was call their secretary and he sent my Grandfathers entire file to me for free.

2010 Grand Lodge Annual Communication resolutions results

If I remember correctly, they said the plate is the one proposed by the state representative. I could be wrong but that wouldn't be anything new....lol. They also said that there would be a handicap version. I hope they make a purple heart version as well.

2010 Grand Lodge Annual Communication resolutions results

2 line in items in the copy of the budget that was given to everybody at the registration table were $10,000 and $8,000 for aprons. $18,000? Seriously? The list goes on and on......

    Unfortunately, therein lies the problem.....

    Head Covered

Yep, last year they submitted this resolution. "9. Amend Art. 397 so that only the King James Version of the Holy Bible may be placed upon the Altar during the conferral of degrees. (Thornton Lodge #486)"

    Touchy Subject

This is yet another good point on the subject. I personally, have never seen proof of this. The bottom line is that society determines what is acceptable and what is not. This varies from area to area and from time period to time period. In ancient Greece, Rome and Egypt, homosexuality was a...

    Touchy Subject

So, does this mean that all of the Brethren who are of the Wiccan faith must demit because they are tolerant of homosexuals?

    Touchy Subject

While it may be hard to do at times, I do indeed....even if it takes a minute of quiet time and reflection to make it happen.

    Head Covered

I would be willing to bet that Thornton Lodge withdraws this proposal just like they did with the similar one they made last year.

    Head Covered

I would hope for this too. Especially since Freemasonry encompasses all religions without prejudice. I fear however, that way to many of our brethren do not hold this to be true. I sincerely hope that I don't offend anyone by this but since Freemasonry encompasses all forms of religion, I...

I would love to have the Alter, pedestals and light but alas, I live in SA.

    EA's and the Book

EA's and FC's should not even be told of the existence of a code book in any form. While I can see your point of view, there are some of us out here who have memory issues and we do not always have knowledgeable Brethren available to ask about something specific. With that in mind, the fact...

    Dual members

I am working on dual membership with the Lodge back home that my grandfather was in. Zebulon #273 in Prestonsburg, KY.

    Recruiting?

Brothers, there are other ways to "recruit" without doing it actively. Last fall I purchased a black fleece pullover on ebay that has the S & C on the right breast with the words "Upon The Square" under them in yellow which really makes it stand out on the black. The first week that I wore...

    Dublin Lodge #2 Dublin, Ireland

Wow, this was absolutely amazing. Three of us from my Lodge went to Dublin. While there, we were able to attend a meeting of Dublin Lodge #2. This Lodge was chartered in 1727. We were greeted very warmly. Before the meeting we all gathered in a study type room and had a pint of Guiness. During...

    2009 Resolutions: #9

This resolution states, and I quote: "Amend Article 397 to permit no other Books of Faith to be placed upon the Alter but the Holy Bible." Now, the way this is written, if a man of a faith other than Christianity wishes to have the book of his faith upon the Alter during a degree so that they...
