Re: Fraternal Relations Committee (Grand Lodge of
We do not have lists/books/ledgers of recognized lodges that we can compare dues card too in our lodges so this method would be of no use to us . It is up to the SW and Tyler to know who is recognized and who is not , well them and the three...
Re: Fraternal Relations Committee (Grand Lodge of
Again , I am stumped as to what you are getting at so maybe I am dense . If by "light" (sorry but that terminology of Masonic trinkets throws me off) you mean some Masonic emblems , I do do not pay attention to other Masons in a crowd . As a...
Re: Fraternal Relations Committee (Grand Lodge of
I know MANY recognized Masons that DO NOT learn the ritual verbatim . Or at least the ones I know , those of us who can confer degrees by memory are growing in short supply around here .
ETA : I know a brother who is one darn good Mason , but...
This is why dislike "Specialty" lodges that cater to a certain group . We all meet on the level and what we do or who we are in the outside world should be left outside of the lodge doors .
My YR bodies are $30 for the Chapter , $30 for the Council and $40 to the Commandery . The Commandery is higher now because the Grand Encampment raised our assessments .
Re: Fraternal Relations Committee (Grand Lodge of
I may be a little dense this morning , a little slow due to the sleeping pill I took last has me all fuzzy headed so forgive me for asking but what are you trying to say here ?
Are you saying conduct your own business as you see fit and if it...
That's easy to say when you can rise . I CAN , but it causes to much pain to do so so I remain seated when I do not have to stand ( Prayers and certain sections of ritual) . Has nothing to do with disrespect and those around me understand this .
Re: Fraternal Relations Committee (Grand Lodge of
Actually , and do not take this the wrong way as I say this with brotherly love , how one jurisdiction does things and conducts their business is their business and their business alone . I would hope that when I walk into a lodge in...
Re: Fraternal Relations Committee (Grand Lodge of
If some are members of other forums there are threads on this very subject as per what you described in your previous post has and does happen . Clandestine Masons sitting in regular/recognized lodges because they were not vetted properly so I...
Since I can only relate to my own jurisdiction this is how I will answer ....... It depends on where you meet them . When not in a lodge setting I greet them by their first name or by "Brother" and if I am seated (in the dining room for instance) when they approach me , I stay seated . I am not...
Re: Just married, looking for words of wisdom and
She is always right first and foremost . And remember , women commit to memory EVERY mistake you have ever made as if they have a super computer hard drive in their memory banks and in the middle of an argument , no matter what the argument is...
I am not PHA but this is my thoughts as I have been approached in public . The only time I need to prove myself a Mason is when I am visiting a lodge where I am unknown . I will not be tested/tried/challenged when "on the street" , the extent of my Masonic knowledge or even if I am Mason is of...
Wife purchased mine from a jewelry store . SR ring was included in our petition/degree fees and I have no idea where it is or what happened to it .
As I never had nor will have any children I gave my wife instructions to give my Craft Lodge ring to my second lodge to give to a new MM upon his...
During degrees , in the East . As of this December I will be where we in my lodge send old Past Masters to grow roots , the Tyler's chair and during stated meetings that is my favorite chair . I will be there until I die or give it up , not that I will complain it is a free dues card after all ...
I would like to echo Ksig's post , I first went into the YR and love it , exactly as KSig explained . Later I went into the SR , I enjoyed the lessons taught but really was not so impressed by it that I wanted to remain a member so I ultimately demitted . Honestly I received what I needed from...
