Many do. My Lodge's aprons have embroidered S&C on them, so I felt safe with that design. I wouldn't recommend a custom for regular use. If your Lodge is fine with you wearing it for certain occassions or if it has specific symbolic meaning you should be fine if your W:.M:. is okay with it. Now...
It is not *only* in Lodge after you know ***HE*** has received the degree in a r&dcL, etc. You must KNOW before commencing in Masonic modes of communication. But in a Lodge is one instance where you can be sure he is a true Brother.
That is sad news. I am glad that his Lady Widow is continuing their service to the Brethren. He designed and made my apron for me. I wanted an all-white apron with a S&C embroidered on it. He said he had never made one and felt some colored thread would be more "normal" :-) but when I explained...

Only if they are carved and a lit candle is shoved in it...but then it would be a 2π ÷ 7/8 × the speed of light-pumpkin Mason.

Could you please provide the cite for Ill:.S:.G:.C:.Pike writing that there are 360 degrees in Masonry and he didn't include the rest because they are repetitive. I also believe the Memphis Rite ends at less than 100 degrees (which I believe he...
I almost cried...almost. It truly is amazing what goes on at Scottish Rite Children's Hospital. It is such a great hospital! The research, patents, and innovation coming out of there is unbelievable. I'm proud and humbled to be a part of it, no matter how small...

I like the north, but most Brothers don't realize that once Raised...the stigma on that side is no longer an issue. As YOU are a beacon. (There are some other esoteric reasons why it isn't an issue like when you start off as a candidate.) As a newly Raised Master I felt obligated to sit there to...
Alright...it appears that S:.G:.C:.Clausen rewrote a substantial amount of the rite. I don't see any other changes to the 32nd Degree between the early 1900s and the 2000 revision (which would have been after you received the degrees and the certificate of M:.R:.S:.). My money is on Clausen in...
It looks like it was Sublime Prince of the Royal Secret for quite some time. M:.O:. mentions nothing of M:.R:.S:. (so far as I can tell). Mackey's Encyclopedia (mine latest is 1924) does not include an entry for M:.R:.S:., but from "Royal Secret" to the S:.P:.R:.S:. instead and there is no...
Probably quite sometime ago. Albert Pike's Magnum Opus lists it as Sublime Prince of the Royal Secret (his original revision of the manuscripts that he received from Albert G. Mackey). I'm skimming through it to see how Master of the Royal Secret is referenced. I am assuming that no matter what...
The first Sublime council of Princes of the Royal Secret in America, was established in Charleston, SC in 1797. This was the 25 degree system, with Sublime Prince of the Royal Secret degree as the capstone of the degree system (not as a title). Once established, the Supreme Mother Council of the...
Scottish Rite Valley of Dallas will be holding Day 3 of our Fall Reunion on the last Saturday of October (10/26/13), not next saturday (they are usually consecutive Saturdays). I will be shadowing the Evaluation Committee on the balcony, so come say hi.
This is essentialy a One-Day Reunion...
I forgot to tell you that Day 3 will be on the last Saturday of October (10/26/13), not next saturday (they are usually consecutive Saturdays). I will be shadowing the Evaluation Committee on the balcony.
We will be honoring R:.W:.&Ill:.Jack Hightower, S.G.I.G. Emeritus at lunch. Here is a...
Did you ever join OES? I went through with my wife this past year and I really enjoyed it. I actually found the ritual pretty fascinating. I've been focusing my research elsewhere, but there are a few aspects that I am dying to dig into. Well worth the minimal due fees.
I have actually not been...
Been about the same for me. Sometimes I'll see one at a friend's house or somewhere and jump on for a bir, but never hitting anything hard. I used to care less about my shoes...now it's another story! I wish I was as active as I used to be. I used to skate everywhere and on anything. I miss...
[In response to the other Brother's question/statement]
Having recently taken my Orders, I was required to profess my faith in Jesus Christ as a Christian Mason. If you slip in through a progressive Commandery...that is yours and their understanding, but it was put very clearly to me that you...
To be sure, you are correct. I just felt the need to expound based on some of my recent readings.
Prior to 1897 the titles were "Active Members of the Supreme Council; Inspectors General; and Deputies." During the 1897 biennial session of the Supreme Council the Active Members of the Supreme...
