So a friend of mine is semi curious about joining a lodge. In speaking with him about it he remembers that his grandfather was a Mason, but doesn't know which lodge he belonged to. Whether or not he joins, he is still interested in finding out about this part of his heritage. He asked me how he...
I've actually seen older Brethren refreshing their knowledge with this book. Not as a teaching tool, but an aid to the mind that tends to forget details from time to time. I duly understand that we are not to write such things, but I think this is a necessary evil in some ways.
I am proud to say that I was only initiated in April and raised in September; but I just passed the Committee on Work Exam for a C Certificate. I believe the memory work is an important piece to keep members interested. Especially as the members that teach the material to younger masons are...
Just an update: I had an awesome time! Passed my C Certification! I would like to Thank the WM of Waco 92 and Denton 24 for hosting this wonderful event. I apologize for the late information, next time I make sure to post early enough for all interested Brethren to attempt to attend.
Once initiated as an EA, you're as much of a "real" Mason as you will ever be. However, you should wait until you are a MM until displaying any sort of emblems or jewelry. Not only that, but if you are serious about your journey in Masonry, it shouldn't take long to become a MM.
That sounds awesome. Since I was initiated and told my Dad about it, he has been somewhat curious. It's an awesome thought that my family would want to join. You must feel so proud. Congrats!
I wish I could. Just can't do it financially right now. Even at the lower price. I know a few Brothers that will be attending from Waco. Best of luck! Hope you have a great time!
I know this is a little late, okay a lot late; but I wanted to inform everyone that the Committee on Work will be at Waco 92. They will be doing esoteric exams for certifications. Breakfast will be at 7am with a forum and exemplification to follow at 8. After which, the exams will begin. I hope...
I'm not so sure you should set you eyes only on earning The Golden Trowel Award. That seems a little short sighted. The first Golden Trowel ceremony I attended was when I still petitioning the Lodge. Although I was in awe at the things this particular Brother had achieved, to him it was just...
Let me just explain the scenario. My mothers current husband was initiated as an EA some years ago. He never desired to complete his work or be passed to FC. According to Texas by laws, is he still considered a Mason?
I'm sorry for the ambiguity of the question. What I was referring to are brothers that are initiated and never advance further due to their own desire or lack thereof. As far as I know, in Texas EA and FC do not pay dues. So they're never suspended for non payment. But they do not desire to...
