Alas, brethren, it appears my settings were not put to receive notifications from this thread so I did not know either of you responded. Darn....
I would have loved have met up with brothers. My wife and I have a home over there and we return often. Perhaps next time.
I don't remember if I've already posted this. If so, here it is again, anyway. If not, feast your eyes.

Re: What is "within Freemasonry"
The blue lodge is inferior to the teachings. The blue lodge is meant to represent the stages of a man's life. The appendent bodies are additions to the degrees. The arcane symbolism with in the SR degrees cant and shouldnt be made available to anyone...
Right. Also, does the term Freemasons include the philosophy, symbols etc.?
Freemasonry stems from a lot of sources that all substantially have the same idea; transmutation.
(getting closer to that one hundred.....)
You know what? There's no 'G' in the middle of this ring so he's not a Texas Mason and he's only an EA.....so basically, we're cool.
We can all just calm down about it.
The emphasis isn't on the candidate's fuel. The emphasis was on the instructors (typically cert holders) who hold the meanings at little to no importance.
Though, this may not be the case at your lodge.
By instructor, do you mean the one teaching the catechism? If so, I don't completely agree with your last statement and I'll tell you why.
In my lodge, we aren't short on A, B & C certificate holders. None of whom (that I know of) teach esoterica.
Now, I have two schools of thought on why I'm...
Do you boast about the number of famous and/or influential people that are/were members of the Craft, to the outside world?
Do you think it's important or even necessary to acknowledge that there are 'famous' Freemasons?
I'm curious because when I ask a guy what he knows about Freemasonry (and...
I shall qualify my statement. By "those kinds of lodges", I mean the type that have low income and high overhead and rely on flipping pancakes and chili bowls to make ends meet.
Props to your lodge if this isnt an issue but rest assured, this is a problem in Tejas.
Run dude. Run far away from those kinds of lodges. Otherwise you'll find yourself fighting the uphill battle of fart jokes, fish fries and citrus sales. Lodges like this literally cant afford to practice Masonry because they are too enslaved by the dollar. Unless, of course, you're into that...
The best way to find out about Freemasonry is to walk into any Masonic lodge and say "I would like to speak to the most well informed member in this lodge".
Not the secretary.
Not the WM.
Not any other officer.
Not the oldest guy in the room.
Not the most excited Mason.
Not the web surfing...
