I began my journey as a Prince Hall Freemason lodge@ an lodge in Alabama. After going thru my 2nd an incident happened to fellow brother who was also walking with me. Long story short he was branded and i did not fell that some actions by the other brothers were appropriate. Therefore, I didn't complete my 3rd. Over the years I have traveled and questioned numerous brothers how do I go about completing my degrees and getting back on course to no avail. I'm in Columbus, Ga. and i am still traveling trying to find a home. Where the brotherhood is abiding by the governing rules. Signed once a brother always a brother. ....just without a home.....I think.

Are you saying that they branded a man as part of his initiation into Freemasonry? That's totally outside of ritual, and what would be allowed in any well-governed lodge. How long ago was this?

Based on your typing I figure you mean your cohort was banned not branded. I do typos like that all the time and also word substitutions.

You will need to approach a nearby lodge and tell them your history. Ask them if they are able and willing to help you complete your degrees "by courtesy". Lots of lodges are happy to do so Even better than just helping out a brother the brother they raise will often affiliation with the lodge that raised him. If the jurisdiction offers the practice there is paperwork to be done and patience to practice. If the paperwork has to go to another jurisdiction there is double paperwork to be done and double patience to be practiced.

Patience is one of the first virtues we are told to practice but it sure isn't an easy one.

He might have actually meant branding. It is popular in Black fraternities and there are some similarities to Prince Hall between the two. I have some myself but I chose to do it. Of course a lot of people won't understand that.

I was aware of the fraternity practice. I think it's highly inappropriate as part of the initiation into Freemasonry. If someone wants to do it later, just like a tattoo, that's up to him. But not part of the official initiation.

I agree with you regarding the initiation part. Until the original poster elaborates further, it is difficult to ascertain exactly what he meant in his original statement. I am not sure if the branding was part of the initiation process or not or even if branding was what he meant.

I metal or metallic object, formed into a shape, lets say for this subject, shaped into a square and compass. Then put into fire to get red hott. Then pressed and burnt into your skin.

Same thing farmers do to cows.

I have heard that some of these things are "said" to happen in "some" PHA lodges. And thats the excuse i get from people when i ask "why dont we in "FL" recognize Prince Hall.
Reasons of actions like the above.

For humans it's seriously deep kink, plus it carries the ownership implications of its animal applications. If there is in fact some clandestine order that does this, that would explain why no regular and recognized lodge will ever meet with them on the level.

It is beyond my kenn that even a clandestine order would be involved. To me it sounds more like a accusation and vilification than a real report. Something to accuse those nasty clandies of doing with no actual confirmation of it ever actually happening.

We've followed up with brothers who have taken up to 30 years from their EA or FC degree to come back and finish their journey. Your old Grand Lodge should still have records where you were initiated and passed. Find a local lodge where you feel comfortable, and petition them. If you're now in a different state, there may be some paperwork between the respective grand lodges to verify your old degrees and transfer you to the new jurisdiction, but then you can receive your Masters in your new lodge once you prove your FC proficiency. First off, find a lodge you like, and petition them. They should be able to help you complete your journey from that point.
