PASCAGOULA, Miss. -- Four teenagers were arrested for the burglary of the Masonic Temple on Temple Street, Pascagoula Police Capt. Shannon Broom said.

The oldest teen, Tykarus Raymond Smith, 18, was out on bail in connection with a May drive-by shooting charge and 3 counts of aggravated assault, Broom said. Also arrested Friday were: Ladarius Antoine Stallworth, 17; James D. Wright, 17; and Shawn Elliot Martin, 17.

Wright is from Gautier, while Smith, Stallworth and Martin are from Pascagoula. "The sad part is three of them just turned 17," Broom said.
An anonymous tip led police to the building shortly after the door of the Masonic Temple had been kicked in.

"When officers arrived they searched the building and immediately found Shawn Martin and James Wright inside the front door," Broom said. "Officers continued the search and found Ladarius Stallworth and Tykarus Smith hiding in an upstairs bathroom."

In a May report, police said that 2 men drove past Sun Chase Apartments at 3200 Hospital Road and fired one shot into a group of people standing in the apartment's parking lot. Three people were injured, and Broom said one of the victims was a pregnant female.

Smith's previous bail was revoked and City Judge Michael Foundren denied Smith bail for the commercial burglary charge. Smith was taken to the Jackson County Adult Detention Center this afternoon.

Stallworth, Martin and Wright, who Broom said had no previous charges, were in the Pascagoula City Jail this afternoon pending bail hearings.
