On 04/02/2011 a Masonic Lodge member found a pipe bomb near the Helotes Masonic Lodge on FM 1560 in Helotes, TX. The fuse initiated device was constructed with PVC pipe.

As we all know this is the second incident in which Central Texas Masonic Lodges appear to have been targeted by an arsonist. The last incident occurred in March when a Molotov cocktail was thrown through the door of the Onion Creek Masonic Lodge in Austin. The two lodges are 84 miles apart.(SAPD)

Brothers be safe. Report any suspicious persons on the property. Don't approach out of place packages or objects. That's what I get to do. Dangerous times we live in.

Its like there are 2 stories with this one. I think the lodge was doing roadside cleanup, possibly near the lodge, and came across the suspected pipe bomb. It doesn't sound like it was on lodge property.

But, with the earlier incident, it sure doesn't hurt to stay alert, keep an eye on the property and notify the authorities if something seems amiss.

I stand corrected and that is good news. I need to hire better sources.
