Looking at the wide verity of avatars, I just wonder if you think that they might reflect the way we see ourselves e.g. or the way we wish that others see us. WOW I must be having? I forgot just what I was having.

I know what you are having, and you are correct. Our usage or lack there of, avatar selections are very unique to the individual.

I do not know what compelled me to choose an old man as my avatar.

Mine is something I came up with after a discussion I had with a Brother. It is the symbol for Chaos with a Square and Compass inside. To me it represents how Masonry brings us together for us to choose our own path in life. The arrows represent our paths that we each take. At the bottom is the a line from Dan Brown's book The Lost Symbol, which I was reading at the time, Order Out of Chaos. Figured I would help the cause on the conspiracy theorists.

Pretty much sums mine up. I plan on changing it soon though.

I have no acceptable reason for mine... Wait a minute, 11 ex-wives, 31 kids, 18 step-kids, and 56 Grandkids.... Maybe that's it :) Actually, mine shows who I am, and I promise no more.

Mine is a little something I threw together about 5 years ago... something with the all seeing eye and the square and compasses...

Mine is indicative of my overall lack of creativity and my severely limited technical skills.
