It is the highest award and honor a lodge can bestow upon one of its members.

    Brother Rodriguez,
The golden Trowell Award is the highest award possible in Masonry. It is awarded to someone who lives the "Masonic Lifestyle". ( In other words, this brother practices what he preaches.)
Brother Yost is a mason's mason.

From what I gather, it's only for Past Masters?

    I don't think that is a requirement.

One brother in my lodge received one two years ago, and another will be receiving one this coming Tuesday. Neither is a PM.
