I would like to obtain a new letter G for our Lodge. In my travels, I have seen some that were obviously commercially made, but I have never been able to identify a place that makes/sells them. Can anybody point me in the right direction? Many thanks in advance.

I think most that I have seen were hand crafted by a Lodge member. With the exception of the neon G in Floresville which had to have been made by a sign company.
I kind of like the leaded glass. Maybe you can find a local artist to make one.

I'm not a fan of Neon. We could use a new "G" in Gonzales. Our current one looks pretty rough and has been there for at least half a century. Leaded/stained glass is expensive, but is so nice.

I agree Blake. Plus the neon has a hum. Now, I guess if you had a really talented neon artist, they could be OK.

I just thought about Army Lodge in San Antonio. They have a light box built into the wall. Then they have interchangeable stained glass frames that fit into the box. One for the G, one for OES and I assume they have one for York Rite. I think if you have a lodge that is used for several functions, this is a great way to do it.

Most are handcrafted, same with a lot of clocks (I made a stained glass clock for St. Johns 51).

Check out one of my sites: Texas Masonic G

At Nederland our G is in a box that hangs from the ceiling. The box rotates around for OES meetings.

Have you tried a shop that teaches stained glass making? My mom was taking classes at one, and people would come in and ask if someone could make them something. That way you could design it yourself and with students doing it, it may keep the cost down.

That is a fantastic idea. Try and find a college somewhere that has this as a coarse. That would be a fantastic way to keep the cost down as well.
