This is a link to Internet Lodge #9659, under jurisdiction of the United Grand Lodge of England.

I was contemplating joining this lodge. Just haven't decided if it's worth the cost to say I'm a Mason under the UGLE as well as the GLOT.

We pick bad acronyms, don't we? :D

I don't belief that the United Grand Lodge of England would be considered clandestine. That is the Grand Lodge that chartered Internet lodge 9659

Would this not fall into a situation that required this to be conducted through the GLoT according to our Texas Masonic law?

    Off the GLoT Website:

Note:-- Masonic Protocol requires that any and all Masonic Communications with other Grand Jurisdictions MUST BE SENT THROUGH THE GRAND LODGE OF TEXAS.

Thanks for the information, Smokey. I'm still new to the Craft and didn't know this rule existed. I'm not sure how to communicate to UGLE via GLOT, so I'll have to do some research.

I'm not an expert, but as I understand it for all official communications, you can go through your lodge secretary, who will then direct it through the GL secretary and pass it on.

But just to join any recognized lodge, I don't think you have to go through the GL. It's like visiting a lodge in a recognized jurisdiction, and then asking for a petition for affiliation. They'll contact your GL to verify your credentials, but that's the extent of their involvement I believe.
