In my personal opinion, women should be Freemasons. We can do a whole Rite where woman can be masons. They must follow the all Masonic laws, and can either have a York- or Scottish-oriented form of institution. There can even be a meeting in the Grand Lodge, and even have a mixed Grand Lodge meeting. Again, this is my personal opinion, and you're welcome to disagree. I just keep in mind that the most important for one to be a Freemason is to be of good behavior and choose to become one willingly.

I know that it would eventually run off most guys. Many wives that have no interest in joining would maybe give a brother grief since it was suddenly a 'secretive' co-ed organization. I think it's a good argument and on the surface sounds ok but not sure it would actually benefit the Craft in any way. It's one thing to have Masonic getaways with some guys but you throw women in the mix and it changes everything. I personally don't have a big problem with it but it just won't happen and I'm good with that.

Yep, I have to respectfully but strongly disagree with Brother LeoValMero5 on this one.

CoMasonry exists as an option so there's no need for any change of any sort. Find the nearest lodge. Demit. Affiliate. Done.

Thing is the membership of CoMasonry is one percent or less of the membership in our male only orders. Clearly extremely few chose to take the mixed option. It's nice that the option exists because a small number of people do take that option, but the topic is a tempest in a teapot given the relative membership numbers.

If my wife wanted to join a fraternity I'd be happy for her to join a female-only one. If she wanted both of us to join we'd probably pick one of the ones with animals in the names. Elk, Moose, Eagle ...

I meant the degrees, the secrecy, and the teachings of Freemasonry.

Just not the requirements to receive all the above? Not trying to argue Brother, but there are irregular groups specifically for this with like minded people who didn't like the rules. It's just not regular/mainstream Masonry.

Women in Freemasonry are accepted to perform different tasks but not ritualistic, as shown by the pyramid are female figures with relative charges. [IMG]

No, Women are not accepted as Masons in regular or mainstream lodges. There are allied organizations Females may join. There are also irregular lodges which some absolutely accept female members as stated above.

I think the P.E.O. Sisterhood is a pretty 'secret society' that women can join if looking for something similar to Masonry.

I have certainly expressed myself wrong, they are not considered Masons but have roles and tasks in parallel.

Now this statement I can mostly agree with. I'm not sure that I would agree with the "tasks in parallel" part but would agree that they have similar tasks or goals.

A woman Freemason is such as a pregnant man. Just my opinion.
