    Hello

I'd very much appreciate brothers' views and insights into the size of their lodge, and how (and at which point) lodges have spurned new lodges.

The lodge I was recently intiated in has grown to around 70 people (initially 15 or so I think) over 20 years, and there is high attendances at least 55-60 at meetings. Venue is at capacity, and there is limited opportunity for brethren to do work.

Broadly there is contemplation of (1) a new venue, (2) the lodge remaining as one but on 2 'rosters' of meetings, or (3) a new lodge.

Each option has its own advantages / disadvantages which matter more or less to people, and this does seem to have caused differences in opinion and is a bit of a source of tension.

I'd like to know how big are others' lodges, and how have they dealt with growth? Would love to know others' thoughts / hear their experiences.

As a new EA I hope I have put this question correctly! Also may be some differences between juridictions (I'm in Australia), so broad comments are fine.

    Best regards from Oz

    Brad

My lodges are 300+, 200, 120, 34, and 32. I like the work produced by the 120 and 200 lodges best.

44-ish, I believe. We've got a dedicated core of 8 to 12 guys who do all the work.

256 here at Sam B. about 50 of whom attend lodge fairly regular and about 15 of these who do most of the work. We average about 2-5 visitors per stated/called meeting.

Are we starting to have lodge size envy? Is it the lodge's size that matters or is it how you use it?
