The Detroit Temple building is one of those "Grand Masonic Edifices" that are, tragically, falling to the ravages of time, mismanagement, and rapidly declining membership (revenue). It appears to be extremely unlikely that any person or group with the resources required to save it will step up and do so. Maybe that's a good thing, in the long run, for Freemasonry. Maybe erecting such a thing was an act of hubris that had no hope of weathering even a century's worth of cultural change. But oh my, what it must have been like to be a part of it in that day.
