This is kind of an odd request, but does anyone have a pattern for an apron? My candidate, who I raised on Monday, has a slight disability (a semi-bummed right hand). I'd like to make him an apron that he can put on by himself (with a clip or something that doesn't require a knot).

    Ideas?

the only thing I can think of is an elastic waist band.... come to think of it , that should be used on all of 'em

Cheap tip- find a nylon belt or strap about 1" wide & however long as his waist size is. You might even be able to find one with the plastic buckle already on it. Check @ WallyWorld, Lowe's or Home Depot or sporting goods or hardware stores. Cut the strap about 3" from the buckle and sew that end to one edge of the apron on the side of his good hand. Then sew the other end to the other edge of the apron. Now his apron has an adjustable belt! He can hold the apron with the "bad" hand and hold & insert the strap & buckle with his good hand.

that ended up to be exactly what we made. we got some cordon and put it around the edges of the apron, tho.

    What about velcro?

we used that exact same buckle, looks like. velcro seemed to not stick as well, and got messed up after a few uses.
