Curious if you guys are allowed to wear your Freemason ring while in uniform. I’m in the Air Force and would like to wear it proudly . Of course it would be conservative in nature but I was wondering if you guys wear it yourself or know more about the subject. Thanks for any feedback!

Yes, Brother. I wear mine in my AF uniform all the time. N0 different than a class ring or alumni ring maybe.

I retired from the USAF before I became a Mason, but I frequently saw uniformed members wearing Masonic rings.

    What does your regulations say?
We (Army) can wear wedding rings. The army says may wear total of two rings in good taste and must be conservative in manner and not extremist like. Commander may prohibit.
    Religious jewelry is ok.

As for a Freemason ring, I’ve seen it worn but I don’t think it goes against regulations UNLESS THE COMMANDER says so. It’s all in the eye of the beholder which is the Commander. Lol.

    AFI 36-2903:

6.3.1.4. Rings. Airmen may wear a total of no more than three rings; wedding sets count as one ring when worn as a set. Rings will be worn at the base of the finger, and will not be worn on the thumb.

I wore mine in uniform as well. It also opened doors to friendship with Brothers from other units who noticed it who I would not have met otherwise. In fact, it was a Brother when I was on active duty in the Air Force in the early 90s that introduced me to Freemsonry when I asked him questions after noticing his ring.

I wore mine in garrison, not in the field.

I was stationed in the the desert back in the 90's,. I am one of the founding Brother' of Plumbline Military Lodge #117. Truth be told Senior NCO's would wear their rings when they took their DA Photos...

That's a fine group of brothers in Plumbline! They regularly visit my home lodge in Victorville and others in the area.

No problem unless working in a situation where jewelry might present a safety hazard.

Very true, my former job in the military didn't allow for any rings while performing the specific AFSC duties due to safety reasons. We've all seen that photo of the degloved finger from a ring getting hung on something.
