I was wondering if anyone has ever requested and used a Traveling Certificate (form 58) when traveling to other jurisdictions?

Yes, I have used the the certificate many times. I will state that this certificate will NOT exempt the bearer from a "Masonic Test".

Then what's the point in using it?

I picked up a bunch when I was at GL a few months ago and gave them to some of my Brothers that travel.

It is the equivalence of a letter of introduction, if one does not have a prosper one will not gain entrance in some Lodges. :)
