We found out at this year's Grand Council Assembly there will be one conferral of the "Super Excellent Master" degree in 2013.

It is currently scheduled to be conferred on Saturday, June 8th in Fort Worth, TX. The details and forms will be posted on the Grand Council website at: http://www.texasyorkrite.org/council/

The Super Excellent is the "final" Council degree, but it's conferred so rarely that it's not a required degree. You must have all the degrees up through Select Master to qualify. It's definitely well worth attending if you can make it. It's conferred in "festival" form very similar to the Scottish Rite Reunion form.

Something to consider Companions! Definitely a major production!

Were you at Grand Council? I'm sorry I missed you if so.

I grabbed a form while I was there and most definitely plan to receive the degree.

Yep, was there up until the installation of the Council Officers. Interesting two days to be sure. I had to be there as an outgoing DDGHP for the Chapter, but I wanted to be there because my replacement was chosen from my home Chapter as well. Next year I may do Grand Lodge instead of Chapter/Council- I can only afford one a year in terms of Vacation time and costs.

As a side note, they said during Grand Chapter and Council that you can bring your spouses in for the degree, after the obligation is received.

True. Good catch Bro Vick! Thanks!

Bro Vick reminded me that according to what we were told, the team conferring the degree intends to make part of it open for spouses to sit in. Should be quite interesting!

I'm trying to see if we could get a team to come up to Idaho to confer this degree, but it definitely takes an effort. If I can't get it coordinated I plan on traveling to a jurisdiction who confers it.

This link should take you to our Grand Council page where the flyer and the petition is: http://www.texasyorkrite.org/council/ - plus I downloaded them if you need them. They're posted right on the main Council page, can't miss 'em.

I have also posted a link to it on the website for Texas Chapter and Council (the one at the Temple)

In case you are traveling to Ft Worth for this, there is a Holiday Inn Express directly across the street from the Ft Worth Masonic Temple, very convenient. I do not know that there are any special prices available for this, just passing on the information.
