Thank you, Bro. Stewart. Any advice? I'm fast approaching that Oriental chair, and I need all the help I can get. Oh, and I'll edit my signature after the installation.
Well Brothers, the Lodge elections, for me, are over for this Masonic year. I got elected as Junior Warden in my Home Lodge and got elected as Senior Warden in my affiliate Lodge. I know it sounds as though I am tooting my own horn, but, I think I may have bitten off more than I can chew. I hope...
As long as you can benefit from something you see or hear in your travels, nothing is wasted. IMO, the "standardized" ritual is just that, "standardized", so that there is a guideline for all of us to follow in our degrees and opening and closing the Lodges. If we all gather around the Altar at...
Some say you are to wear it with the Compasses "points out", so others can see that you are a Master Mason when they see your ring. Some say wear it with the Compasses "points in", so, when you look at your ring, you will remember the tenets of Freemasonry. I personally wear mine on my left hand...
LMBO! Brother Freyburger, depending on what part of San Antonio you live in, you are about 525 miles from El Paso. I would estimate a good 7 1/2 to 8 hours. Unless, of course, you were refering to flying over there. (Aww shucks, I didn't read far enough. Just like me to put my foot in my mouth...
As I was surfing the web the other day, I came across the connotation, Modern Free & Accepted Masons. Can anyone tell me what that is all about? I know the difference in Free & Accepted Masons and Ancient Free & Accepted Masons, but this is something I have never seen before.
Congradulations, Brother. I hope you enjoy your year in the East. I just got elected Junior Warden in my Home Lodge and will more tha likely get elected as Senior Warden in my Affiliate Lodge. Again, congrats.
Brother Martin, please do not leave Masnory. There is surely another way for you to find the light you seek. There are other Lodges in the Metroplex. Ft. Worth is in a different Masonic district, I believe, and there are plenty of Lodges over that way. There a some of the Brothers on this forum...
My mentor was one of the "old fashioned" guys, and made me learn the whole thing. He told me that a man could turn it in a section at a time if he wanted to. He also told me that I didn't want to. LOL. He said, "You get more out of it if you learn it all together." I turned in all three sections...
When I petitioned the Lodge, I had to ask, and ask, and ask, and ask for a petition. Mind you, this is my younger brother (sibling) I am asking. Then, when I do get a petition, it takes me three or four months to get the neccessary signatures, because, "We wanted to get to know you better and...
Welcome to the site, Brother. You will enjoy the back and forth between us, in my opinion anyway, and we always welcome a fresh point of view. Again, welcome.
