Holey Underwear, Batman! Certainly not. an EA wouldn't have enough knowledge of the workings of the lodge to be of any real use. My gosh, I was raised in May and breathed a silent sigh of relief to learn that I WASN'T selected for a committee this year. Things are still too dim for me at...
I don't know about that... I was raised at a graded degree. I found the whole explanation of the grading to be very interesting, and the fact that someone was watching to make sure that the brothers got it right was kind of neat as well.
Like most things in life, what you take away from the...
While nobody told me that I COULDN'T wear one, I was asked not to wear a ring until I was raised. Not that I needed one, but the reason given was this: Let's say that you're a brand new EA and you start wearing your grandaddy's ring around. Then someone sees it and assumes that you're a MM...
Good to hear. Thanks.
Yikes! That's terrible. This is probably a stupid question on my part, but has the Grand Lodge or the Magazine sent out requests for articles to the lodges? Maybe nobody has submitted any articles because nobody knows that they're wanted. Just a thought.
Cliff, do you know if the other co-authors are still pursuing this or if they're even still active? A look at their website, http://www.knightsofthenorth.com/ only shows a logo, the words, "knights of the north ... we'll be back soon" followed by a link to the document and the words "new server."
Ahh, proofreaders... the unsung heroes of the literary world. Reminds me of this:
A guy is standing in a bar having a drink, when this furry creature walks in, orders a sandwich, takes two bites, pulls a gun and shoots out a light, then walks back out. Obviously upset, the man asks "What in...
Thanks, Nate. After starting this thread, I got to thinking that my question might be premature. Certainly there's more to learn in blue lodge than I can possibly cover in a year, or probably many years. I was just trying to get at the reason why a man would join the Scottish Rite or any of...
Brethren,
I was raised back in May, and am having a great time learning more and more about this great fraternity. However, I've got a question. What are the reasons for joining Scottish Rite? Are there reasons NOT to join? Now, don't get me wrong. I've got absolutely nothing against it, I...
Indeed. As the claim goes, "Masonry takes good men and makes them better." I was told, during my interviews, that masonry isn't about the business of saving or rehabilitating bad men. It is in the business helping men who are already "good" to become better men. Better in their community...
Having just downloaded the android app and started reading the latest issue, I'd have to agree. This could be a great addition to our fraternity. The issues are easy to navigate, and are well formatted, at least from what I can tell on first read.
I emphasize the word "could" because in order...
I never did any trapping, although my best friend trapped lots of coyotes back home when there was still a bounty on them. He ended up with the occasional badger, along with skunks, coons, possums, etc. There's nothing quite as disquieting as having a badger in a trap when the drag slips, lol...
