Sad news from Onion Creek 220

I received this disturbing email from my home lodge. For those in or near Austin you may want to keep an eye out for this at your lodge. "Brethren, I have the following disturbing report, withheld until talking with Austin Fire Department’s Arson Investigation Division today. Last...

    Howdy

Things are good. Been way too long since I have sat in a lodge and have been missing it. I couldn't remember if it was Mike, Gene Sanders or one of the other guys.

3 Black Balls Vs 1 Black Ball

I think that there should be some discussion about the candidate however it should be limited. We do not want to cross the bounds of privacy and intrude on a persons life. Also would we want to cross some of those lessons taught us? What would you say if someone approached you before or after...

One-Day classes, What do YOU think?

I have mixed feelings about one day classes but I do understand when they can be deemed necessary. By having to learn the work you do gain a better understanding of the degrees. It also helps in daily life because you are more apt to follow the lessons learned. But I am also one that believes...

I haven't been to a Wardens Retreat in 5 years. So I don't know what they covered or didn't.

3 Black Balls Vs 1 Black Ball

That is true but when you have a large number of brothers present for voting is it practical or wise to hold a reserve amount in a separate container? Say you have 50 brothers show up you would need 100 balls. Most ballot boxes I have seen are unable to hold that many ball waiting to be cast.

3 Black Balls Vs 1 Black Ball

Does not apply to me. My home lodge uses cubes. The law book is clear on what results depending on the number of rejection votes. My question is, do you in fact perform a Masonic offense by asking for more of a particular color when all have been used. Kind of a trick question there.

PM out of Austin now in DFW

I used to head out that way all the time. I would normally stop by the blue bonnet. Their chocolate pie tastes just like the ones my grandmother used to make. I am not sure if they have one or not. From what I have heard they have a very nice building that used by a few lodges and apendent...

Have you worn your white leather apron?

I have worn my apron in public twice. Both were for funerals of very good friends of mine. My lodge gives the outgoing WM a PM apron when he leaves office so that one is the one I wear.

Thanks for the welcome. owls84, I wish I could have made it to the degree but I have other plans for tonight. Let me know how it goes. I have always enjoyed working the degrees. I do have to say that the SW in the FC degree is one of my favorites right along with the 2R in MM degree. My home...
