Views on a Travelling Entered Apprentice

Well I travelled to observe an EA conferral at another Lodge in Dallas. I've been blessed that my Lodge has had EAs pretty steady since my initiation. (I also called "odds" when throwing numbers to decide if I would be first or second for my FC with another Brother, so I got to see the Passing...

    Mass Conferring vs. Individual/small groups

No problem. Yeah it's Article 431, Degree Conferred on Only One Candidate at a Time. The lectures can be done as a group. i guess that mass-conferral is only a legitimate option for PHA in Texas...

    Mass Conferring vs. Individual/small groups

At the same time (concurrently) or consecutively? I thought I read an article in MWGLoT Law specifically forbading conferring a degree with more than one candidate. Dispensation? Or 3 degrees back-to-back with any lecture or other work together, after all were raised?

    Mass Conferring vs. Individual/small groups

I saw that at the PHA Communication there were 83 Brothers Raised. Sounds cumbersome, but I wonder if there is something positive in that. The individual experience is definitely the way I'm going (I wouldn't have it any other way), but there must be a reason some are planning and executing them...

Can a Jewish Brother Wear a Yamaka in a Lodge Room?

Friday night at the Cricket something-or-another...I'll PM my cell number so we can synchronize swatches (oh yeah...I just dropped a Parker Lewis Can't Lose quote).

Ol' skip is at it again

You'll like it. The audiobook is really good as well. I've been an Audible subscriber since 2002. That is where I get most of my "reading" done...while commuting :thumbup1:

Ol' skip is at it again

You or Brother Cajun ever read Monty Python's Tunisian Holiday? A writer met a couple of them in New York when they were passing through and they let him come to Tunisia to write about the making of The Life of Brian. It is a really cool look at the making of a film and the lives that the Circus...

Can a Jewish Brother Wear a Yamaka in a Lodge Room?

I thought that sounded familiar Brother Bill ;-) ... Though an amateur like myself didn't include the article number (doh!) But again, I learn something new...I now see that the article was revised in 2010. So where does it reflect that the edict was superceded? In the law and proposition...

Can a Jewish Brother Wear a Yamaka in a Lodge Room?

I can't speak for the nays specifically, but it is probably for the same reason I posted it: It could be counterintuitive to some if they haven't seen or (in my case) never thought of it. The Laws of The Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Texas defines the head covering worn by the WM as a crown...

Ol' skip is at it again

A really interesting thing is that the founders, administrator, and moderators openly talked about the possibility of having an anti-mason section to allow him/them an open voice. He didn't jump on that opportunity. I guess it would have countered his arguments about us...c'est la vie...[sigh]

Can a Jewish Brother Wear a Yamaka in a Lodge Room?

I was reading through the Most Worshipful Grand Masters' of Texas Decisions and thought it was an interesting question. Grand Master's Decision -2006- No. 1 says yes a Jewish Brother may wear a "Yamaka Hat" in the Lodge Room, so long as the brother wearing it does not (a) by wearing the Yamaka...

    Aflliating

I believe there will need to be some discussing between your home Lodge and the Grand Lodge, which the Grand Secretaries would work out...but I'm a "noob" so I may be mistaken. :49:

Try Amazon. [The ring is similar to this, but the S&C are aligned and not alternating in orientation.] http://www.amazon.com/Black-FREEMASON-MASONIC-Tungsten-Carbide/dp/B004KB6X9C/ref=sr_1_18?s=jewelry&ie=UTF8&qid=1351056965&sr=1-18&keywords=masonic+rings

    Hiram Key book series

Mine's got the same cover and smells the same. It was reprinted in 1928. Signed by some dude and dated 1938 (Note to self: Write something interesting about myself before signing an important book...). Got it for thirty-or-so bucks (steal!). Read the forward and the first chapter...looking...

Brothers what is wrong with this picture.

It may not even be used. Just because it is allowed doesn't mean it is used. I'm curious if it is though...
