I love Art of Manliness, I'm surprised I haven't seen this before. I got a lot of amusement just from reading the comment section this time. :)

I did not listen to the article but I read the thread title and the first thing that came to mind was a lifted f-350 with the S/C on each brake light, Masonic license plates, Skull and Bones across the back window driven by man with a masonic belt buckle, a masonic camo baseball cap, two rings on his right hand and legally changed his middle name to Hiram.

Haha, that is funny, but it is not about that sort of false masculinity. It is referring to the archetypes of masculinity in American history: genteel patriarch, heroic artist, and self-made man.
