You have to ask the question though, if you charge $5 for meals, how many will not show up then? I'm sure there would be SOME loss. We usually have a few brothers volunteer to bring an item to dinner. This has worked out great, with the stewards providing the main course, and others bringing in all the fixins and dessert items. Some simply just grab some ice cream and an apple pie from Wal Mart, which is always great. If we cannot cover an entire meal, we use a charge card, as stated in a previous post, and use it. We have had times where donations have covered our meal for the month, and the some, so it goes directly on the card. On study nights, we have coffee and drinks, maybe some snack cakes. We also have a fridge full of drinks, .50 for can, .25 for bottle of water. Over time, it adds up and helps out.
