I would never stop doing something because some idiot like Skip can't handle himself appropriately. That is why I am a Mason and not a member of Skip's church.
I think there is a difference between lovingly and Masonically learning about religion and discussing it...and proselytizing and degrading somebody else.
My lodge saved me in Masonry. We average 150% attendance, we have a waiting list to join, and I look forward to every meeting. They are events, not just a meeting. I love the food, the drink, the fellowship. Truly the life changing experience I had hoped to find.
My blue lodge dues are at $365 plus per capita or $406 a year. Plus $35 a month for dinner and drinks. So another $370 really.
So to belong and participate its a minimum of $776 bucks a year. Most of us belong to a private meeting club to have a cigar and Scotch together and that runs...
I have not held Masonic communication with them, but I have even invited members of Co-Masonry to lecture at my Scottish Rite temple and they were extremely well received. I have visited their GL and so has my GM.
I have also conversed with men of all different sorts of irregular Masonry...
The idea behind traditional observance can be defined as upholding the "tradition" of initiation as special, powerful, wonderful and extraordinary. We don't pretend that Masonry is magical in the Harry Potter, sense, but do believe that our special rite of passage can be life changing when...
Hello Brother,
My name is Cliff Porter and I am the VP of the Masonic Restoration Foundation and a member of a T.O. styled lodge.
All T.O. lodges are regular. We T.O. follows the rules, regulations and ritual of its GL. We do often open by candle light, use uniforms and uniformity of dress...
I honestly think we don't need to make it as difficult as TSS is. MOT has its own flare and I like it...but I say hit the ol' ban button on Skip and any other self proclaimed anti...let them go find a different soap box.
I am comfortable denying any anti-Mason a platform on a Masonic website as much as I would also keep you from the Fraternity. The Craft is not the community. It is a secretive society that specifically excludes madmen and fools. I would have no problem throwing a cube at any one of the folks...
There will always be debate...there is a certain point in a Masons journey, at least there was mine, when I felt compelled almost to defend Freemasonry from the zealots.
Masonry has an answer for this which appears in the EA charge which admonishes us not to debate with the ignorant.
FYI for...
In our YR and SR bodies there are communion like aspects where we drink wine and I am certain that although in your area they might use grape juice or skip the degree, the SR definitely has this aspect to it and I am likewise certain the degree of the temple does as well. In either case, its...
I am an honorary Canadian Mason :-) and H. Past Grand Lecturer of the GL of Nova Scotia...does that count :-) I will also be in Canada several times next year.
