Re: Interested in finding a Free and Accepted Lodge in Killen, Tx or surrounding area
I will be in the Harker Heights area next weekend for a little recreation with friends.

As far as I know, the MWPHGLoTX does not allow dual membership. A demit is required. I have heard of "Mainstream" GLs referred to as George Washington GLs before. In this instance, I would assume that he is talking about the GLoTX.
Here is an article about what PH masons deal with concerning these other groups of so called masons.

Hazing is a bad problem in many of these non-recognized/clandestine/irregular jurisdictions. In addition to that, I believe it to be something to keep up with the Greek fraternities.
It is actually that simple in most cases. Although Prince Hall Origin (PHO) possesses lineage to #459, their structure is irregular and they are not a body recognized by either PHA or any "mainstream" GL anywhere. The rest of those jurisdictions vary. Some have lineage to a man named John G...
There are no states with more than one PH GL. What each state does have is a myriad of GLs that have predominantly African-American membership that label themselves AF&AM.

I interact with them daily in several facebook groups where when all else fails, blame it on the white guys. Seriously. I also used to be a member of a clandestine GL. This is something that was taught to us. I can honestly say that it always sounded fishy to me and I have never regurgitated...
I'd like to read it also. I couldn't really get the rhyme scheme. I hope that doesn't sound crazy. There was a certain rhyme cadence that I was trying to find but it just wasn't working.

Even though each jurisdiction may have its own special way of doing things, fundamentally the two are the same. The answer for the existence of both of these masonic bodies can be found in history. To make a long story short, Prince Hall was an African American man who petitioned to join what is...
Basically, they either CAN'T trace their lineage to one of the mother GLs, they CAN trace lineage to an expelled PH mason named John G. Jones, or they just pop up out thin air and form a GL. Some believe that article of incorporation they receive from their respective states are what gives them...
That is the term that 99% of the African American clandestine GL members use to refer to their designation as AFAM versus what would be "three letter" PHA

You have stated your GL here before. It is not a regular or recognized organization. Unfortunately, he won't be able to attend based on that.
