Freemasonry and Kabbalah emerge from different historical and cultural worlds, yet they meet on common ground: the symbolic quest for inner transformation. Both traditions use layered symbolism, sacred geometry, and ritual progression to describe humanity’s ascent toward wisdom, balance, and...
No, I was a member of the GL of California at that time. I visited PHO quite a bit and I have good memories. I still have many PHO brothers, all fine and upstanding Masons and men.
It was made clear to me that I am no longer a member in my old GL or subject to their Masonic discipline. Even if I was what are they going to do? Kick me out? I already left.
Freemasonry is often described as a system of morality veiled in allegory, but beneath that familiar phrase lies a deeper current that has quietly flowed through certain rites and traditions for centuries: theurgy. In its simplest sense, theurgy is sacred work—ritual action intended not merely...
A lot of Masons in the mainstream are not welcoming of talk of esoteric freemasonry because to them it doesn't exist. To them Masonry is a fraternal men's society, nothing more. Ritual is simply something to be endured until you get it over and done with. They just want a place to get away from...
I'll put it this way. Not sure if you have ever been married or not, but when you get married you make a vow until death do you part. Now, if you get a divorce do you still honor that vow? My obligation within the GL of CA belongs to them. I served the GL of CA for a decade. I made many life...
Just to be clear there are no bare female breasts during any of the degrees. Everything is done symbolically and the candidate is prepared in a solemn and respectful way. It's all quite beautiful.
Grand Orient of Italy is interesting. I was a guest of a Memphis Misraim Grand Orient lodge in Trieste once. I have a deep affection for the romantic and esoteric nature of Italian Freemasonry. CAMEA in Italy is also very interesting.
I know I am necro bumping old threads but I am new here. Anyway, I remember when TO was just getting started. I was a guest at both Academia Lodge in SF and Esoterika Lodge in Seattle. I think there is a need for lodges like this in the mainstream. In work they reminded me of the handful of PHO...
Good question. IMHO Freemasonry is an initiatic system and experience. A Mason made at sight eliminated that experience so you could say I am not a fan but as far as I know a Mason made at sight is not of a honorary thing. I'm not aware of any who then became active Masons but I could be wrong...
Thanks for the question. The way I look at it I demitted, no longer being a part of that jurisdiction. My previous obligation was to that jurisdiction and within it's regulation. I didn't go behind the back of that jurisdiction and sit in a lodge with women, I did the honorable thing and removed...
You don't have to accept anyone when it comes down to it but going out of your way to insult and hurt people just doesn't seem Masonic to me. Hell, a lot of operative stone masons weren't too hot on the speculatives infiltrating their guilds either.
Also, get right down to it every speculative...
According to Lisa's jurisdiction you would be. I hate to tell you this but no Mason is obligated to accept what a jurisdiction other than theirs
deem regular.
