Last week during a larger personal discussion, the lady I'd dreamed of having a future with brought up the issue of our "secrets." Her main points were:
a) mates should have NO secrets between them, period, and
b) anything good should be able to bear the light of day, and be open to all
She's...
Well, I am.
Masonry requires that members believe in a Supreme Being, and Deists do.
If you wish, will be happy to discuss Deism -- but please either IM or create a new topic to avoid co-opting this one.
A sad situation indeed. The only way such a decision from the KoC Council makes sense to me is if they deem other faiths to be illegitimate. Does anyone know if such is the case?
They could always install a cell phone jammer... but I, too, don't see the problem with posting election results as they come available. If they're having a problem with cell phones going off, why not simply make a public announcement before proceedings begin, reminding everyone to turn them off...
Bring up the dialer, hold down the pound key for a few secs. Silences most cell phones.
It IS bad form to leave the ringer on while in a properly tiled lodge. OTOH, in my lodge, ringers are often drowned out by passing trains honking, as a track runs directly behind the building.
Quite a few brothers in my lodge have CHL's (sometimes referred to as CCL's) as well -- including myself.
I think this is less about being Masons and more about being Texans! :)
Indeed... and as I hear through the grapevine, GM Carnes has little patience for petty or frivolous Masonic charges.
We brothers should always work toward being better, but never lose sight of the fact that we are flawed human beings, and are still sometimes going to act like it.
