    Worshipful Master

    Well said, brother.

    What do you tell the Anti Freemason?

    You sound like you have a good head on your shoulders, and have a broad idea of what to expect. To clarify, you will find no mention of Christ in lodge -- but this is NOT a denial of Christ as some would see it. Masonry as a fraternity neither endorses nor denies any specific faith, as it is...

    What do you tell the Anti Freemason?

    True... that is the view of some. However, it is not our job to proselytize or discuss the pros and cons of one belief system over another. This is not a denial of any faith, rather, it's just not the purpose of our assemblage.

    What is the Order of the Eastern Star?

    What happens when when the wife of a MM, who is a sister in the OES, becomes divorced or widowed?

    Who owns your Lodge's real estate and other property, really?

    My lodge, #1174, owns our parking lot -- a big source of revenue, given our location. The lodge building rests upon property owned by the family of a passed brother, who had given the lodge a virtually free lease to the land so long as Masonic work is conducted on the property.

    Master Masons Apron

    No rules I'm aware of... even if there were, the GL can hardly enforce them upon outsiders. Or... can they? Bwah ha ha ha... :38: Sorry, couldn't help it. Anyway, it might be worth having a conversation with the family, when possible, to impress upon them how important the apron must have...

    Worshipful Master

    This will always be a split issue, as the lodge means different things to different people. Some brothers are attracted to the esoteric aspects, the introspective exams, the deeper meanings of the ancient mysteries -- while for others, it is primarily about the fraternity, the brotherhood...

    What do you tell the Anti Freemason?

    The Anti-Mason is a conspiracy nut, and "needs" to be smarter and more informed than those around him to feel significant. Arguing with him is pointless. Just smile, try not to roll your eyes too much, and see how he reacts if he notices your masonic ring, keychain, etc. :38:

    Masonic License Plates

    I understand and agree with the S&C comments -- but hope that minor modifications to the design are allowed without having to go through the process all over again. I'd rather take it the way it is if that were the. Besides, matches my CafePress clock :)

    Would you purchase a Texas Freemason License Plate?

    Woohoo! Sure hope your source is accurate. It's about time!

    Would you purchase a Texas Freemason License Plate?

    Re: Absolutely! Wasn't implying that anyone actually WAS using our symbols, just that we have no force of law that prevents any "Joe Blow" from declaring himself (or even herself) a Mason, and using one or all of our symbols in any way they choose. Fortunately, most people do the right thing...

    Wm=pm?

    Who?

    Wm=pm?

    It is my understanding that upon becoming a Worshipful Master in Texas, one simultaneously becomes a Past Master. Can anyone confirm if this is so (several highly-placed brothers assure me that it is), and if so, how and why? NOTE: Weird, the board software "corrected" the capitalization in...

    Proposed Racism Resolution

    Don't have a list of Texas recognized lodges handy, but know for a fact that the blue GL of Minnesota is recognized as legitimate by the GLoT. Given the current limited recognition of the PHGLoT, however, would guess that the PHGLoM is not. Is it a blue GL or PHA GL? If blue, Bro. Cook will...

    Proposed Racism Resolution

    EVERY Master Mason has the right to vote, and should vote his conscience. We can all only hope that a brother who blackballs a candidate does so for virtuous reasons, not petty ones.

    Proposed Racism Resolution

    Don't know if the part of your comment about badmouthing older masons as racist was referring to mine, but if so, allow me to clarify that my words weren't intended to brand all older masons as racist. For me to do so would be bigotry of a different flavor; likening all who look a certain way as...
