There has always been a war on critical thinking & independent thought. The people who fall for that video, do so because it supports their narrow & limited world view & experience.

But in all seriousness, I always make an effort to stand, although I have been caught unawares a few times.

I'm in CA and we use them. Every cipher book I worked through was with a coach. Eventually the book was completely put away and everything was done mouth to ear.

I would give the benefit of doubt to a fellow mason. Also, helping out a brother with putting food on his family's table can only bring back good mojo.

It's not impossible Dug. In fact your best bet is to look up non-union set shops in your area. Sometimes they will work on projects that go union and those days go towards your permit days. You need 30 days within a year and then qualify.

It's really hard getting in right now unless you're related to someone with a lot of pull. I'm barely hanging on as it is. So much work has gone out of state, which limits how many painters in our union get work, if we even do. It's a completely different ballgame then when I got in 12 years...
