    Greetings from Indianapolis

Welcome to the community! I hope you enjoy your stay here.

The Shrine has now been "de-recognized" in Arkansas

While I like the idea, I don't see it ever being implemented. For one, I don't think the appendant bodies would go for it. Secondly, it wouldn't happen uniformly across all jurisdictions, which would cause problems, I think.

    Masonic Paintings

I'd be interested in the same thing. I've wanted a trestle board type poster or print for awhile, but haven't found one that I'm overly fond of.

Resolution proposals for next GL session

Yeah, so long as the symbolism is Masonic in nature, I don't see the harm. But the first time I see a Metallica apron, I think I'd throw a fit. :p

Resolution proposals for next GL session

I'd be all for custom aprons designs period, personally. If someone wants to express the symbols they hold most dear through a custom apron, why not let them? We can still give a pure white apron to new MM's and all the appropriate symbolism is intact. If they wish to purchase their own...

    Music in the degrees

If I ever get out of school (soon! *crosses fingers) I'd very much like to do a Grand Lodge wide survey on this subject, being a musician myself.

    War Horse

Good to know, I suppose I'll check it out. I saw previews and simply though, "Huh... movie 'bout a horse. Ok..." Trailers didn't do anything for me, but everyone is telling me how great it is, so I suppose I'll check it out.

    Red Solo Cup

My girlfriend first showed me that. Pretty much true. :p

Saw this on Bro. Porter's Facebook page...

I love the symbolism behind that pin.

Not sure if I have even met a mason...

Takes a lot of courage to walk into a situation like that. Be open, honest, friendly, and try to get to know the men you meet. You're taking the right first step.

Should Grand Lodges mandate that all subordinate lodges have a website?

I don't think anyone here is arguing that a lodge shouldn't "cheerfully conform" if a lodge mandate passed. Rather, I think the majority don't feel a mandate is necessary or wise. In my lodge that would essentially mean that one of two or three people (myself being one) would *have* to be the...

    Dealing with lazy EA's

I'm inclined to agree with the above. If they don't want to come, don't make them. You can invite them all you want, but if they aren't interested, you'll just be forcing them to do something they don't want to do, and as soon as that push disappears, they will too. You won't be doing either...

    Decorated Aprons

That was a very insightful video, and I probably know more about the GL aprons than I ever would have known otherwise. And that's an awesome story, Txmason. Wonderful to know that brothers still take care of each other.

Should Grand Lodges mandate that all subordinate lodges have a website?

A mandate without providing easy means through the Grand Lodge's website would be foolish. Not that websites are terribly expensive to maintain. But if your demographic is entirely devoid of the technologically savvy (i.e., mostly retirement age), you're just asking something of them that they...

Grand Lodge of the State of Israel

One of my dreams is to visit an English speaking lodge in Israel.
