When we set our feet upon a path such as Freemasonry, we commit ourselves to a process of growth. It is not an easy path as it constantly requires a stretching, a breaking out of old molds to reshape ourselves in the light of the understanding we acquire. To want "easy lives" or "tasks equal to our powers" is to misunderstand the process of our Spiritual evolution and to turn our backs on the course we have chosen.
Pain is often part of the process as we leave old selves, old belief systems and old crutches behind. As Freemasons we must accept responsibility for our own march towards the Godhead and so should welcome all difficulties and all challenges...
