I don't have an office, or even carved out 'man cave'. More often than not, I'll got to the Lodge & do my Masonic work there.
I'm a J:.W:. In 2 different lodges, in 2 different districts. It has been a boon & bane, to be honest.
Both lodges are different, different emphasis' differences in minor things.
Initially I thought it would broaden me, & make me a more developed Mason for the Fraternity at large. I don't know if I'd choose to do this again if given the chance.
I did have a chance to confer the EA degree several weeks ago on 3 candidates. I thought when it was all over, the A:.G:.L:. Was going to give me a list of 'what to improve on' - 'what I'd said out of order(?)', but he told me I knocked it out good. He said my voice inflection, & genuineness connected with the candidates. So I was relieved, because in the end, it's really about their experience.
I may choose not to advance in either lodge. I'll have to wait & see what the will of the Craft is. I've always taken my progression slower than most. I don't have any political / Officer aspirations . I'm mentoring 2 (possibly 3 now) newly MM, & a candidate in the Chute. I think a better investment of my time will be spent getting to know these men, their families better, & mentoring them, answering their questions, et al, than rushing right into the S:.W:. Chair.
