The SR is a great organization. I have been a member off and on for 20 yrs. The meetings are enjoyable, but not a "party". The Alexandria VA SR has terrific speakers, mostly from non-Masonic organization. We have had speakers from the FBI, and a public health doctor delivered a very interesting...
There is a WW2 film "Brother's War" that has a Masonic theme. Keep in mind, that the Nazis outlawed Freemasonry, just being a Mason would put you into a concentration camp. The film director sent me an autographed copy, and I was deeply touched by the kindness.
I like to inject some humor! Like "Watch out for those (number) guys"! "They will hit you right in the (body part)" or "I see you have kissed the (****), etc.
I am certainly no expert on AZ Freemasonry. But, I was in Yuma AZ for a training conference, and I attended Yuma Lodge 17. Their building is beautiful, and clearly marked with the S&C. I suggest you contact the GL of AZ, and get their advice.
I read an article some years ago in Time Magazine. Kids are going after Latin again. The schools have Latin clubs where the kids wear togas, and investigate Roman mythology. I even read that school kids are learning Latin, so that they can have a "secret" language like Klingon...
What is a "craftsman club"? Is it like a Square and Compasses club? I have always been interested in such informal organizations. Please tell us more about your specific experiences.

I have always had an interest in Latin.
There was a science fiction movie one time, where two aliens were in a hock shop up in Queens. The one alien showed the new alien a dollar bill. He asked him "What is this E pluribus Unum?" And...
Visiting other lodges is part of the wages of a Master Mason. I have visited lodges in 14 states, Washington DC, and five foreign nations. One thing I regret, is that I did not get a "Masonic Passport" when I was first raised in 1982. I could have kept a record of lodges visited.
It has been my experience, that not many masons are concerned about the direction that Masonry is heading. Most Masons are convinced that everything is "hunky-dory, and peachy-keen" no need to do anything different. 48 out of 51 Grand Lodges show a decline in membership, but membership is...
Did you receive the full form FC degree, with the stairwell lecture? Some jurisdictions include it, some do not , some it is optional. If you have not yet received the stairwell lecture, then I highly recommend it! Find a nearby lodge, and see when it will be presented.
The procedure varies from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. In my home state of KY, most of the officers (SW,JW,SD,JD,etc) are elected. It is perfectly acceptable to seek an officer's position. Most lodges are glad to have a man "go through the chairs", if this is his desire. Other officers...
Since newly made MMs are the subject of this discussion, I am very interested in your input. What are your plans for your first year in Freemasonry?
-Do you plan to seek an officer position, right away?
-Do you plan to volunteer to serve the lodge in some capacity?
-Do you plan to petition any...
