Brethren,
Just wanted to put out a public service announcement for those brethren that are looking for ways to be more involved with the Grand Lodge.
If you are looking to meet other members and learn alot about Grand Lodge then consider volunteering at Grand Lodge as an assistant tiler or working at the registration desk.
As assistant tiler you will be asked to man one of the many doors that have to be tiled. This includes making sure that only brethren with credentials are allowed entrance and to make sure that the brothers are properly clothed with aprons. A great chance to meet members from all over the state and even throughout the US.
Working the registration desk is checking member dues cards against pre-registration packets and ensuring that the eligible members have ballots as past masters. You also direct current masters, wardens, or proxys to the ballot desk so they can pick up ballots for the lodge. Another excellent opportunity to meet brethren from all over and to help the registation process go smoothly. Brother and Mrs Baker already do 95% of the work so you just confirm registration.
If these two positions dont suit your desires then consider working at one of the merchandise tables or at a table that serves one of the myriad of Masonic bodies. Demolay, Rainbow, York Rite, National Sojourners, or OES all have tables that need volunteers so alot of opportunity.
Thanks to the brothers that consistently serve in these capacities and please consider helping out and meeting some amazing members.
