So if Chamber of Reflections were the target of the ban, does that mean that all the stuff the lodge has piled into the ante room are therefor banned? Thus meaning most lodges in the State of Texas are now not in compliance?
:P
In the US it is not uncommon to find buried within a campaign website or information a list of organizations a person is a member. And if you look within that list if a person is a Mason you can find it listed. We tend to be very open in sharing that we are a member of our great fraternity...
I'm probably one of the most outspoken brethren at my lodge, outside of lodge that is. I've a Brother I worked countless hours to assist in electing to County Attorney, every political cycle I'm involved in some campaign. And for those on my Facebook I spend a lot of time involved in politics...
I wear a Sam Houston for degrees. I've not decided what I might wear if I am at some point honored to serve my lodge as the Master, but if that day comes it will not be a typical Cowboy hat.
I think that along with the S & C it has more to do with the brother wearing it. If you are going to wear a ring with such symbolism you should first have a answer ready to defend it. You should have a method of explaining and informing those who might ask questions. Personally I love the...
When I started looking into Masonry back in 2003 or so most of the internet was Anti-Masonic. Today it is night and day, I attribute it to the Brothers, Lodges, and Grand Lodges becoming more visible. It is getting better and will continue to do so as each of us live our lives and the younger...
The order Brent referenced does not require a masonic affiliation, however the affiliated body in Austin does meets in the York Rite Building. I happen to know one Brother who was a member of the Rosicrucian Order before he was initiated as a Brother.
Our lodges Facebook page is Solomon Masonic Lodge #484 - Taylor, TX - Masonry, Sorority/Fraternity | Facebook. Let me know if your lodge has a page and I will like it, both personally and through the lodges FB page. The more we interconnect and build the better communication will become in my...
I happen to agree with your PM. It is not just an organization like Kiwannas, rotary etc.. It should be much more then a group that has ritual work and pays their bills. It is applying the lessons of Masonry to your daily life, supporting your brothers, helping them, supporting your neighbors...
I can not say how much we as a lodge appreciated the turnout. Thanks to everybody who showed up and to those who also participated.
Brother Lins it is always a pleasure to break bread with you for discussions and education. You coming up and assisting with the forums and spending time with...
Perhaps it is just me but three black balls is just as easy to get as one black ball. One thing I've learned from some old times is you can say a tremendous amount without ever saying how you are going to vote or asking somebody to vote a specific way. The WM has the option to ballot as many...
I've heard this before but never actually known somebody who could vouch for it. Thanks for the heads up!
This sounds like it might be a story worth hearing!
If we can not get our own lodges in order how in the world can we worry about Grand Lodge. So many lodges are struggling and for to long they have been getting by and just going through the motions. If we focus on building leaders in our lodge we will influence Grand Lodge in the long run with...
