Hello all fellow Masons! I want to share an exciting event coming up on June 26 at the Texas Ranger Ballpark. The Rangers have invited the Masonic Knights Templar of Texas to perform as Color Guard for the opening of the game! This is a first for masonry, Knight Templar and major League...

Personally I do not mind an open discussion. But if one reads through all these comments, one can see that many of these comments go beyond simple Brain storming or honest opinions. Those are the posts to which I take exception.
I concur with what others say here. The foundation of Masons are taking a good man and making him better. It sounds like the foundation isn't quite prepared yet with this gentleman. Perhaps you can challenge him to "wait". I have had to have that same conversation with my own father. He too...
I agree that these ranting are fruitless. I find it disturbing that so many "masons" can openly disparage other Masons. They may be Grand Officers, but they are also Master Masons. I seem to remember something in the Master Mason obligation.... and these comments I find very inappropriate. I...
evesdropper I suspect. Here is cause problems and stir up controversy. I would suggest ignoring. Anyone who can not speak plain and truthfully is not a trustworthy brother. MHO
Because of the nature of our fraternity, it has caused many outside to question the motives of our fellowship. This has led to conjecture and false claims. Before I was a Mason I read up on the frat. Of course it was books written by ex-masons who were unhappy with the frat. So of course it made...
My feeling on this is that the importance of our meeting is the fellowship of good brothers, not the caloric intake. Break bread together, yes, but keep the main thing the main thing. Good fellowship with good men is hard to come by. A good meal is a dime a dozen.
I enjoy the Order a great deal. There are challenges though. But I find that over coming those challenges have there own reward. I think it is a matter of priority. I am a rather devote Christian. I LOVE that there is an area of freemasonry that folks like myself can really enjoy the parallels...
With freedom come responsiblity. (Funny I was just saying this on another post.) DO we have freedom of speech? Sure. But, we have accepted the responsiblity to NOT USE THAT FREEDOM within certain things. We have promised to not speak of certain things at certain times. If we then choose to...
With choice one could say, "Everything is permissible, but not everything is benfitual. Everything is permissible, but I will not be ruled by any.” And further: “There is wisdom in the multitude of counsel.” (Great Light)
With fredom comes responsibility. It is a wise brother who asks questions...
I think we may be getting hung up on semantics here. Masonry is much like Christianity. Once a person receives and accepts the Son, that person becomes a Christian. There is nothing greater from there than to be in the Family of God. But, that Christian has a choice to stay there, with the...
I am not saying that we shoudl not plan, and be wise with our funds. I am not saying not to be prudent in our planning. But when financial planning and financial growth is all we focus on, we become in grown.
Yes, plan wisely. But, GET OUT of the lodge and serve the community. GO show others...
Like others here, I am endowed in all my lodges. But, like others here, I give over that amount during the year. I did it for several reasons. One, in case something happens in the future, my membership will always be secure. Two, the endowment continues after my death, allowing me to aways be...
You are right on target. Study daily is to repeat it to yourself daily. Mastering what you do know so that the new additions can be freshly taken in. Rote memory is constant repeating until it comes almost without thinking. Hang in there, you're doing it right!
