Question about joining A.E.A.O.N.M.S

I understand that A.E.A.O.N.M.S. in Texas does not require good standing in the blue house. Is this true? Are there any other states that do not require a man to be a good standing MM for A.E.A.O.N.M.S. membership?
Arkansas no longer requires that you even be a mason. Their GL had a falling out with the Shrine GL(not sure what they call it as im not a shriner) and the GM declared the shire to be clandestine.

Brother I gotta ask, are you retired? You seem to be all over the world weekly for different Masonic things
I booked my tickets yesterday for GL of Portugal in September!

I am retired USNR, but I work full time in a private law practice as a trial attorney. This allows me, within reason, to schedule my avocation around my vocation, though some days it is not clear which one is which.

I will do private practice work when I travel, reading professional literature and responding to clients. In the electronic world, we are never away from the office.

We also have a home in Scotland, and so my posts will come from there as well.

It is important to take time away as a trial attorney. We have high substance abuse and suicide rates. The fraternity helps me do so, though there are times that work isn't fun. As an attorney, you "get" to do legal work: Grievance and Appeals, Jurisprudence, General Counsel, Board memberships...The difficult side of the fraternity. For me. It is as hard as sentencing people to prison

I had less concern over imprisoning some people as a judge than I have in removing people from the fraternity.

I hope when i retire from the Army and am established in my future vocation that I too and do what you do for the fraternity

Never heard of the "AE" version of Shrine before reading this thread. Sad that we still need two organizations. I know there are Grottoes, Mosaic Templars and others. I don't know anything about these other organizations but it is sad we have to have separate fraternal organizations. Just out of curiosity, would a man not of African ethnicity be allowed to join the "AE"? I'll further stir the pot be asking: How do you know someone is not, at least partly, of African ethnicity?

I agree. It is very sad!

On some level, you don't - we're all united in Freemasonry. It's the same as having lodges, one super lodge of every member in a town will compromise the enjoyment and learning of the members. Diversity within and without is good..... meh... I'm always a glass-half-full kinda guy :)
