My point exactly. IF more Lodges that did have "younger" masons would use them in web site pics, booklets, flyers, etc.... Then this just might help in attracting younger mason "candidates". By showing only "elder/senior" masons, this keeps the perception (by many... Not all.... Many) that the...
Something to think about....... When looking at a Local (maybe National) Masonic/Shriner websites the pictures that are depicted are of "senior" brethren. Why not try to show more of our "younger" brethren? Many times thru the years I've been told that it was thought that Masons were for only...
Hey otherstar, I see you mention that you are a KofC and a mason. If I may ask... is this allowed throughout all Catholics? Personally, I find it great that you are active in both, but just wonder if it's only allowed in your area. Again, I ask this because there were a couple of gents in my...
I honestly don't know why he had to wait either, but this happened this past year down in S. Texas. I had actually met the person (introduced by my brother years ago.. (whom by the way is a KofC with the Catholic church). When I met the individual we always identified each other with a friendly...
Sad thing is that it continues to happen today. I know of a "X" mason in S. Texas who had to go thru a 6 month "probationary" period before he was accepted back in to the catholic church. Still hard for me to understand the mentality and how the clergy still permits this to be continued. It's as...
Sadly I fear more of this will come. Times are very diificult with economy yet dues continue to rise as well as new costs are being introduced starting at the top (GLoT) when attending GL functions, limits are placed on the number of fund raising that is done at local lodges, unprofessional...
Exactly..... It is an embarrassment to freemasonry everywhere and that's why it is going to affect our membership in the long run. IF in fact things like this have taken place before from the same GLoA, then why hasn't that been checked in to? Is there a body (or organization) that investigates...
I'm not sure about not wanting to be a Mason(been one for 25+), but it does anger me and bring embarrassment because I take it very personal as I believe we all should. It makes no difference to me how who or how high up the chain the person is.... he's still a Mason representing people like me...
So the common denominator for all this appears to be GLoA? Could very well be. I wonder why nothing has been done about that (such as investigations of unprofessional/unmasonic conduct)? It it because they are too high up the food chain to be questioned (kinda like our Congress)? Just like many...
All of this...... Because some did not want a person to be potentate a second term.... Because music was too loud & asked to be turned down... Because it was not ANY type of Masonic function.... Because someone pissed in someone's fruit loops.. Yes that's all it amounted to. It's pathetic...
yup.... I believe all this had done is cause these 2 great fraternaties to part ways. So.... I guess congrats is in order to those that have pushed for this to happen.
I do wonder though how a friend of mine from N Carolina had demitted from his Masonic lodge in "good standing" & took that...
Agreed.... Like seeing the faults in our parents. However as children we never questioned & always abided by their decisions (right or wrong). However, as we grow in to adulthood & form our own opinions & follow our own moral interpretations, we can disagree & question decisions & decide whether...
Master Masons first & always..... it still appears that integrity is in question of some Master Masons in high positions that started all this cluster. Is there a purpose in creating this disention "in the ranks?" i still say its a sad day for ALL Masons, Scottish Rite, York Rite, Shriners or...
Sadly it really appears to be a political & power trip thing that has gotten out of hand by GLoA. It should have never gone as high as it did, but looks like certain people in high positions were out for vengence. Now there are many who have been faithful to the Masons AND Shriners for many many...
Rec'd the following email........ You decide.... . Also will try to attach the letter.... Or cut & paste the letter contents of the incident that caused all this.
"Dear Friends:
This letter is more than I ever intended to say about this matter Howeve8r, my inbox has been full of questions...
unfortunately..... It ain't gonna change anytime soon. Waaayyyyy too many that would rather have membership dues raised to give more to the GLoT instead of (GLoT) getting the money for the code books of which 100% proceeds are presently going to the bookstores or anyone that sells them. Kinda...
