one difficult thing for us during a merger was the officers that came to ours wanted to remain in the "line up".... We said "not going to happen"- then they wanted a separate wall to dipict pictures of their lodge officers, then when they transferred money in to our lodge they wanted their old...
I think this sharing of recipes is great. I wish there was a "book of meals" for stewards. I have the honor of this position for the next 2 years and wish there were "Lodge Recipes" to share.
Different note.... How long (yrs) are the Steward positions in your lodge?
I understand all that has been covered in this thread, but here is my dilema(sp?). IF say around 13yrs ago I had been caught with a few joints of Marijuana, that would have been a felony and I would have never been able to become a Mason.... PERIOD (according to GLoT today anyway). However, IF...
I recall a Mason down in S. Tx (Beeville) having to "renounce" his Masonic ties in order to go back in to the Catholic church. Anyone heard of something like this before. This just happened last year and I knew that the person had been a Mason for quite some time. I recall meeting him once or...
I just read this thread for the first time & am disappointed just in the way it starts off.... "healing". Almost as if something had been hurt, marred, damaged and is in the process of getting fixed or corrected again. Why would we even choose to think that when changing from PHA to Mainstream...
Our Lodge is next door to a Vet clinic which ALWAYS has goats outside in the pen area. Some of us usually ask the new candidate if he hasn't picked out a goat yet to go outside & choose one real quick before we get started! LOL Hey.... It's almost a rite of passage!
Kinda like going from...
Believe me I've read the Monitor however....... Well, it is what it is. I've said that the Marshal needs more responsibility and volunteered to take on keeping the book on maintaining/consolidating the time, hours for events done by the lodge brethren. This is needed at end of the year to be...
I agree that the Marshall doesn't do much. At least I didn't for this past year. Vacuum the lodge, help clean kitchen, get ice. Kinda disappointing as there is no real function in our lodge for the Marshal. Told it was just to get used to being an oficer in a chair, but personally I can't see...
Many years ago when I became a Mason in Georgia (now transferred to Tx), I recall a "Director of Works" would sit next to WM (on his right) & would assist when necessary if the WM forgot certain steps or words. This was done so that others in the Lodge would not call out loud words or steps when...
Things don't appear very clear on all this. Doesn't appear that all is being stated unless prompted or questioned therefore makes things suspicious to me. JMO
what was reason for black ball? Did you not give proficiency in allotted time? Has to be a reason. Honorable discharge is only small portion of investigative info. Has to be more to all this. If you don't state all this when (or if) you apply again in another lodge and it comes out years later...
seems like some are trying to "split hairs" on what is a christian, what is the right name for God, Allah, Dios, Gott, ..... we can go on and on.....
i recommend not to use google because there are too many crazy interpretations of Masons out there. Best thing to do is to find one (elder or...
